Catalog description
Examines the processes, models, and instruments for assessing and monitoring the progress of literacy development for all learners. Students develop the ability to critically select, administer, and interpret valid, reliable, and appropriate literacy assessments for the purposes of formal and informal data collection. Students also synthesize a variety of data points to facilitate curricular and pedagogical decisions within the framework of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS). Students learn methods to effectively and professionally communicate assessment results and corresponding instructional/intervention plan suggestions with stakeholders including: teachers, administrators, parents, guardians, and advocates. <i>May be repeated once for degree credit.</i>
