Introduces theory and scientific evidence-based research related to writing, its curriculum and pedagogy including the writing process, development of writing abilities, and writing instruction and assessment. Students explore the application of writing research to classroom practice at elementary, middle, and secondary school levels. <i>Closed to students who have taken RE601.</i>
