Catalog description
An introduction to the basics of matrices, linear transformations, and vector spaces along with selected applications. Topics include linear independence, dimension, solutions of linear systems, eigenvalues, and diagonalization. Applications are drawn from areas such as computer graphics, input-output analysis, and least squares. The computer package MATLAB is introduced and used throughout the course. <i>DS</i>
