Presents the general theory of education as applied to the teaching of English in grades 7-12. Consideration given to the selection and organization of content and the methods and the techniques associated with national and state standards for English instruction. <i>One of the six methods courses is required for secondary school teachers by the Maryland State Department of Education.</i>
