Catalog description

Examines the financial side of international economic activity. Topics include balance of payments; foreign exchange; spot markets and forward markets; covered and uncovered interest parity conditions; monetary and portfolio balance models of exchange rate determination; macroeconomic policy in an open economy; under fixed and flexible exchange rates; optimum currency areas; and issues surrounding the European Monetary Union. Students delve deeper into a specific area by conducting original research and writing a paper on a topic they develop in conjunction with the professor. <i>GT</i>
