Urban Economics

Catalog description

Develops an understanding of the economic approach to the role of cities in today's economy and historically. The course utilizes the economist's toolkit to study major contemporary issues confronting urban areas and explores economic solutions to problems of housing, transportation, education, poverty, crime, growth, employment, taxes, and redevelopment. Emphasis is placed on urban policies in the developed and developing worlds.
