Public Speaking

Catalog description

Informed by classical rhetoric, students become skilled in the Jesuit tradition of <i>eloquentia perfecta:</i> clear thought delivered eloquently. Students study the basic types of informational and persuasive speeches, research topics, write their own speeches, and practice speaking individually and in teams. This course builds students' confidence for speaking in public and prepares them for oral presentations in other classes and the world beyond. <i>(Formerly CM290) IMC</i>
