Catalog description

A lab course devoted to learning the basics of news reporting and writing for print and online publication. The emphasis is on learning to report and to write the basic news story types that most entry-level journalists are expected to have mastered. Students learn the best practices associated with professional journalism, including objectivity, fairness, balance, and verification, as well as interviewing techniques and story research. <i>IES</i>
