Catalog description
Provides a detailed examination of the human immune system. The function, properties, and interactions of the cells, tissues, and organs comprising the immune system are covered. Additional topics center on medical immunology and include autoimmunity, vaccination, and cancer immunotherapies. The laboratory portion focuses on current techniques in immunological research including cell culture, flow cytometry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). Student groups have the opportunity to design and complete experiments focused on addressing novel, inquiry-based research questions.
