Catalog description

This seminar is a corequisite support course for students transitioning from applied or business calculus ( MATH 130 or MATH 131 ) to the more rigorous theoretical calculus sequence ( MATH 162 ). Topics include applications of differentiation, optimization, implicit differentiation, related rates and techniques of integration. Designed to bridge the conceptual and technical gaps between the two calculus tracks, the seminar emphasizes conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical communication.
