Independent Research

Catalog description

With the consent of a faculty member supervising the research, a student may earn one or two units of ungraded credit. The scope and subject is arranged between the student and the faculty member. It is expected that for each hour of academic credit the student will produce a scholarly work of publishable quality of approximately 30 pages in length. The project that is the subject of the Independent Research must be completed during the semester in which the registration occurs. This variable credit course may be repeated for a maximum of six (ungraded) credits. (For additional requirements see the associate dean.) This is a Non-Graded Course.
