Catalog description

This course adopts a novel Critical Youth Theory approach to address a range of legal claims grounded in substantive due process from a child-centered perspective. We will explore the various ways in which child-centeredness shapes the legal discourse and how centering children invites us to think differently about legal problem-solving. Topics include: Voting, Right to Identity, Climate Crises, Global Perspectives on Children, Gun Violence, Poverty among others.
