Catalog description

This advanced intellectual property seminar course uses a simulated litigation format to implement the fundamental concepts introduced in the survey IP class. The goal is to provide students with "real-world" intellectual property litigation experience. Students will be divided into plaintiffs and defendants and will participate in various aspects of a theoretical dispute including prefiling investigations, discovery, claim construction for patents, and summary judgment. Through this process the course will cover both practical and substantive aspects of pre-trial intellectual property litigation practice.
