Foundations of Environmental Chemistry

Catalog description

This course is the second in a three-course sequence required of all ENVS BA majors. These courses provide the basic scientific grounding needed to intelligently discuss environmental issues and to prepare students for more advanced study on the environment. ENVS 237 focuses on the physical and chemical science needed to understand environmental processes. Students will build their quantitative skills in evaluating energy and chemical transactions that impact our environment. The course will also work on building skills in interpreting scientific information, including using academic peer-reviewed journal articles.
