Capstone Seminar

Catalog description

This capstone seminar provides a sustained, semester-long experience of research and writing on a topic in literary studies. A statement of topic is due on the first day of class. Research and writing are supported by scaffolded assignments, peer community, and a syllabus of shared readings drawn from practical guidebooks and exemplars of literary criticism, theory, and scholarship. Students develop an original article-length research paper suitable for submission to a journal in the field of literary studies.
