Communication in technical and scientific fields involves presenting solutions to complex problems to a wide variety of audiences. Your research is important and this class is designed to help you better communicate your work and its significance. This course will introduce you to the principles and practices of technical writing, emphasizing clear, concise, and effective communication across contexts. This course focuses on training the skills you need to make your work legible beyond a narrow specialty area. You will learn how to write, design, revise, and analyze technical and scientific documents, including reports, proposals, research grants, instructional guides, and literature reviews. The term will conclude with a poster session, presentation, and research paper. Through hands-on assignments and team-based projects, you will develop the skills to communicate complex information clearly, tailor content to specific audiences, and collaborate effectively.
