Catalog description

This course introduces students to the study of the causes and control of crime from a global perspective. The course considers: the way crime and criminal justice reflects social, political, and cultural forces; the complex intersection between social inequalities and state responses to crime; and the diffusion of criminal justice reforms based on concepts of equality and justice.
