This course involves bi-weekly group meetings, personalized coaching, advising, and on-site school observations. Teacher apprentices work as paraprofessionals or TAs in local schools, gaining valuable hands-on experience while advancing their academic journey. Through strong partnerships with LDCC and local school districts, this practicum equips apprentices with the tools and support needed to succeed both academically and professionally. Each apprentice is paired with a teacher mentor, and the practicum includes managing mentor assignments, coordinating evaluations, and maintaining close collaboration with schools to ensure the effectiveness of the mentorship program.
