Catalog description

An introduction to the safe setup of equipment and principals of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) for open V-Groove welds, joint preparation, proper weld quality, qualification testing, and practice welding open V-Groove welds in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Prerequisite(s): WELD 1110 with the grade of a “C” or better and the consent of the Instructor/Advisor. Exit Notice: Students may be required to pass course proficiency tests before proceeding to other program content.
