Catalog description

Course designed for Physical Therapist Assistant majors to provide the foundation of skills necessary to be successful in the field, including communication and documentation; pharmacological principles; an introduction to common pathologies related to various bodily systems; scientific principles related to the physical therapy field; models of function, health and disease; understanding of patient care equipment and its use in treatment; basic patient care skills including moving and positioning patients and infection control; and to begin developing clinical reasoning related patient safety in clinical settings. (A special fee will be assessed.)
