CONCEPTS IN PEDIATRIC NURSING

Catalog description

This course focuses on the basic concepts of safe patient-centered care associated with pediatric patients and their families in the community with an emphasis on the promotion of health and illness prevention. These concepts include: mobility, nutrition, reproduction/sexuality, immunity, cognition, coping and stress, comfort, leadership, healthcare delivery and legal issues. Common health concerns are also discussed and evidence-based nursing approaches are integrated with a team approach to support nursing judgment and planning for care of the pediatric patient and family. Lab and clinical required. (Special fees will be assessed).
