FAMILY AND INTIMATE VIOLENCE

Catalog description

This course addresses the dynamics of emotional, physical and sexual violence among family members and other intimate relationships both nationally and globally. Special emphasis is given to child abuse, sexual assault, spouse abuse, dating violence, and elder abuse. Victims, perpetrators, police response, and court response are addressed. Students learn about legal options and the role of the helping professional.
