In addition, the timed test includes being able to swim 20 yards, surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound object from 7–10 feet and return 20 yards on your back, holding the object at the surface (no goggles) while completing within 1 minute, 40 seconds and exit the water without a ladder. To attain certification, participants must pass three final skills assessments, including rotating in-conduct surveillance and rotating out effectively, a timed Single-rescuer CPR Scenario, and a multiple rescuer response scenario, and earn a score requirement of at least 80% on the written final exam.
