Classification of drugs with special emphasis on how drugs affect the dental hygienist's interaction with the patient, as well as those drugs commonly used in dentistry. Various aspects of pharmacology will be addressed including physical and chemical properties, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic effects, and adverse effects associated with each of the drug categories.
