Catalog description

Study of the human deciduous and permanent dentition to include the nomenclature, morphology, form, function, development, eruption and exfoliation. Dental morphology provides detailed working knowledge of individual teeth, supporting structures with emphasis on functional and static occlusal relationships. Tooth identification, dental anomalies with clinical considerations are introduced. Topics in oral histology and embryology of the oral-facial complex, dental tissue development, oral mucous membrane, tongue, salivary glands. Emphasis will be on the cranial and facial bones, muscles, the TMJ, blood vessels, lymphatics, cranial nerves, their locations and innervations and structures of the head and neck. A laboratory is required to include study of these topics. (A special fee will be assessed.)
