Catalog description

This course is an overview of the occupational therapy profession for those persons interested in exploring a career path in the field. It examines the different occupational therapy careers including required educational preparation, benefits, roles, responsibilities, and opportunities in the field. Occupational Therapy practice settings, treatment, patient populations and specialty areas of practice are described. This course is related to the curriculum design as it exposes the perspective OTA student to the field of OT by addressing foundational concepts such as history, activity analysis, and roles of the OT and OTA. Course is online except when completing observations is small groups during week seven of this eight week course.
