Catalog description

A survey of the development of Virginia’s government, economy, and society from colonial times to the present. The ways in which geography affected the Commonwealth’s demography, economy, and constitutional structures will be emphasized. The relationship between Virginians and national historical developments will also be explored. This course is specifically designed to meet licensure requirements for elementary education, elementary/middle school education, and Liberal Studies majors, students in other majors interested in Virginia history should enroll in HIST 397 - Virginia History . Prerequisite(s): None. Corequisite(s): None.
