Catalog description
This course is an introductory-level survey course designed to provide an understanding of how science works to address environmental problems. Students will become familiar with the Earth’s major systems, how they function, and how they are affected by human activity. Fundamental concepts addressed by this course include ecosystems, biogeochemical cycles, population growth, air, water, and soil pollution, climate change, natural resources, and waste management. 2 lecture and one 2-hour lab periods.
