Catalog description

A study of theories and strategies for improving writing. Includes a discussion of analyzing subject matter, determining purpose and audience, drafting, revising, editing (including using correct mechanics), and evaluating the elements of effective writing instruction at the middle and secondary levels. This course will also contain a field-based component in a classroom setting when students will examine current pedagogical practices in the teaching of writing. Prerequisite(s): ENGL 350 and ENGL 382 Corequisite(s): None
