Emphasis on anonymous early works such as Beowulf and later works by such major authors as Marie de France, Chaucer, Spencer, Sidney, Marlowe, Shakespeare, Donne, Cavendish, Milton, Dryden, Behn, Swift, Finch, Pope, Montagu, Defoe, Johnson, and Burney.
