Catalog description

Crosslisted With: ( HIST 380 ) Teacher Candidates engage in disciplinary inquiry within and across the social sciences to investigate case studies of major themes and contributions in United States history from 1492 to 1877. Teacher Candidates apply disciplinary knowledge, tools, and forms of representation into inquiry-based learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive for PK-6 learners. This course also explores enduring and innovative principles, resources, and strategies to meet diverse learning needs and interests across social studies contexts. The successful completion of an embedded field-related experience is required. Prerequisite(s): ELEM 320 and ELEM 340 , both with a C+ or higher, and admission to Teacher Candidacy Corequisite(s): ELEM 360
