In this course, students will examine the research on poverty and how it affects children (birth-grade 6), education, schools, and instructional strategies. In addition, students will develop and articulate an informed perspective essential to participation in civic and global life by collaborating with their peers to focus on how poverty and education connect to civic responsibility and life. Prerequisite(s): Completion of FHBS pillar Corequisite(s): None *Fulfills Civitae Core PHBS SI
