Catalog description

An introduction to the historical, geological, chemical and physical aspects of the oceans. This course explores the major principles of physical oceanography, including marine geology, wave and tidal dynamics, and oceanographic circulation. Emphasis will be on interactions between geologic, atmospheric, and marine systems in order to better understand the earth’s oceans as a single, multidimensional system. 3 lecture. One 2-hour lab periods. Course fee: $30. Prerequisite(s): EASC 211 or EASC 300 Corequisite(s): None
