Catalog description

This course examines the making and erasing of public memory in New Orleans through a historical and contemporary cultural lens. Through an immersion learning experience in New Orleans and associated work both pre- and post-travel, students will develop skills for active citizenship, including inquiry from multiple viewpoints, critical evaluation of information, and writing for a general audience. The course will be divided into three components: Pre-Travel, Fieldwork, and Post-Travel. Prerequisite(s): Complete of FHCI pillar Corequisite(s): None *Fulfills Civitae Core PHCI WI
