Catalog description

This course is designed to provide a sociological perspective of the historical development of drug use, misuse, and abuse and social control thereof in the United States. The complex link between drugs and crime; the development of drug laws; societal and criminal justice system responses to drug law violations; and the resulting social impacts are critical examined. Prerequisite(s): CRIM 100 and Junior or Senior status or permission of instructor. Corequisite(s): None.
