Catalog description

Outbreaks are when an infection spreads to a particular region or incidence. Through the study of outbreaks, students will learn about fields of epidemiology, disease ecology, and pathogen biology (bacteria, viruses, and parasites). This course will explore pathogens throughout history, from the bubonic plague to the recent Covid pandemic, looking at their impact on politics, religion, medicine, art/social, and/or the environment. Prerequisite(s): Completion of the FSRC Pillar Corequisite(s): None *Fulfills Civitae Core PSRC SI
