Catalog description

An inquiry into the study of life, with emphasis on the form and function of organisms and the ecological principles governing populations, communities, and ecosystems. This course is primarily designed for students seeking licensure in an educational field and does not meet the requirements for a biology major. Scientific reasoning and scientific communication will be emphasized within the context of studying the principles of life science education guided by both the Next Generation Science Standards and the Virginia Standards of Learning . 2 lecture, and 2-hour lab periods.
