Schools for Language/Learning Disabilities An historical-to-contemporary overview of the field of language-hearing disabilities, with attention to variations among cultural groups. The focus is on understanding the complex relationships among language, learning and literacy. Contemporary theoretical paradigms used in the assessment and treatment of individuals with language-learning disabilities are explored. The role of the speech- language pathologist in the school setting is addressed, with particular attention to the school curriculum , reading, and inter-professional collaboration. The pre-requisites of SLP 601, 602, 603, 605, 606, 608, 620, and 640 are required.
