Catalog description

This course is designed to provide the student with a theoretical and practical introduction to normal speech production and the nature, diagnosis, and treatment of motor speech disorders. Information will be provided regarding each disease/disorder and etiologies underlying these disorders. Classes will be primarily lecture-based, supplemented by videotapes, illustrations, handouts, in-class activities, discussions, etc. The pre-requisites of SLP 601, 602, 603, 604, 605, 606, 607, 608, 609, 620 and a passing score on Foundations Exam are required or permission of Department Chair and Program Director.
