Catalog description

Diagnosis of speech-language and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Norm-referenced, criterion-referenced, and developmental approaches to assessment are identified. Standardized and non- standardized assessments used in the field of speech/language pathology are reviewed. Focus is on data collection, observation and interpretation of test results. Emphasis is also on the impact of cultural and linguistic diversity on assessment and overall identification/diagnosis. The pre-requisites of SLP 601, 602, 603, 606, 608, and 620 are required. The co-requisite of SLP 607 is required or permission of Department Chair and Program Director.
