Theory and Practice of Respiratory Care II

Catalog description
The theory and practice of artificial airway management, positive pressure volume expansion therapies, mechanical ventilators, and interpretation of ventilator waveforms are discussed. Integration of oxygen and specialty gases mixtures and pharmacology is covered. Students Academic Year 2025 - 2026 Catalog 2025 - 2026 Page 140 assemble, operate, and troubleshoot equipment used in such therapies. This course is open only to matriculated Respiratory Care students or those with permission of the Program Director. A letter grade of "C+" or better is required for graduation. The pre-requisites of RC 216 and 217 are required or the student must be an active member of the Respiratory Care Professional Student Group.
