Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to the science of clinical laboratory medicine. Topics include but are not limited to hematologic laboratory studies, chemistries, urinalysis, cardiac enzymes, and arterial blood gases. The course will examine ways in which these and other laboratory studies inform the understanding of disease states and patient management. Prerequisites: Successful completion of the fall semester of the didactic year of the graduate program in Physician Assistant Studies. The pre-requisites of MS 500, 501, 502A, 503A, 504A, 505 and 506 are all required.
