Catalog description

In this course, students develop basic oral and written communication skills in German at the A1/1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The course objectives include: reading and listening comprehension of simple texts; giving basic personal information; establishing contacts with others; taking part in basic conversation; acquiring fundamental vocabulary and learning basic grammar structures that enable elementary spoken and written communication in everyday situations while living in Austria. The curriculum includes conversation, reading, writing exercises, listening comprehension, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. This course is Pass/Fail and includes 60 contact hours. In order to register for this course, the student must be an active member of the Global College Student Group.
