Catalog description

Lecture topics in this course will focus on pathophysiological content related to chronic disease. Students will learn how to apply testing and training techniques used in chronic disease populations through role play and simulated environments. The latest concepts of the role of exercise, fitness, and physical activity on diseases such as asthma, type II diabetes, obesity, heart failure, osteoporosis, and aging will be discussed. There will also be a laboratory focus on diagnostic testing (e.g., ECG) in chronic conditions (i.e., asthma, COPD, CAD). The pre-requisite of EXS 501 is required.
