Catalog description
The course is an introduction to engineering graphics and computer-aided design (CAD) using the Dassault Systems 3DS platform and CAD capabilities, which are used to communicate engineering drawings and design concepts in accordance with ANSI standards. Topics include visual thinking and geometric construction, sketching, orthographic projection, isometric, sectional and detailed views, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, engineering drawings standards and computer-aided design. 3D- printing is briefly introduced. Three credits; two- hour lecture and two-hour laboratory. Prerequisites: CHM 3, MTH 100 or 19, MTH 102 or 9, and MTH 122 or 22
