Catalog description

Introduction to the history, philosophy, and current trends in mental health counseling. Exploration of the role, function, and professional identity of the mental health counselor, including issues of credentialing, collaboration, and consultation with other treatment providers. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the foundations of mental health counseling, the scope of practice, and an introduction to Mental Health Counseling and Consultation approaches. The pre-requisites of CSP 615, 649, 652 and 654 are required.
