Catalog description
This course follows the development of a child from embryo through late adolescence. Students learn where body systems develop and how children grow and change physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally through each stage of infancy, childhood, and adolescence. Students explore models and theories of development, with a special focus on clinical impacts of normal and abnormal development. Students apply this knowledge to the clinical setting to examine the age-appropriate development of a child and identify delays or unexpected development.
