Catalog description

This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of academic writing, emphasizing critical thinking, argumentation, and effective communication. Students will engage in the writing process through prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing to produce clear, unified, and well-organized essays. Emphasis will be placed on thesis development, audience awareness, organization, grammar, and mechanics. Students will also learn to incorporate credible sources into their writing using APA style. By the end of the course, students will have demonstrated proficiency in writing academic essays that reflect critical inquiry and adhere to academic conventions.
