This course examines the mechanisms of immune responses to infectious agents in the context of diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease. Topics include innate and adaptive immunity, antigen presentation, MHC (Major Histocompatibility Complex) and the Complement systems, autoimmunity, immunity's role in cancer and its treatment, as well as the roles vaccines play in the advancement of public health.
