Catalog description

Course content includes the history of social welfare and social work, the history and current structures of social welfare services, the role of policy in service delivery, and attainment of individual and social wellbeing. Course content provides students with knowledge and skills to understand major policies that form the foundation of social welfare as well as introductory analysis of organizational, state, national, and international issues in social welfare policy and social service delivery. Prerequisite: ENGL 17000 with a C or better; SW 11000 .
